Knight is Co-Publisher/Editor-in-Chief and business partner in Hatton-Brown Publishers, Inc. Hatton-Brown dominates the forest products publishing field with the titles Wood Bioenergy, Timber Harvesting, Southern Loggin’ Times, Timber Processing, Southern Lumberman and Panel World. The company also publishes two magazines not related to the forest products industry.
In addition to coaching the corporation's editorial team and helping plan and execute the editorial agenda, Knight interfaces with the company’s printer, helps manage the business and is a regular writer and columnist. He became co-publisher and editor-in-chief for Hatton-Brown in 1981. He joined the company in 1968 after a four-year career in newspaper journalism.
